Third Anniversary of PVF

Nearly 100 friends of the PVF joined in the celebration of the Third Anniversary of the establishment of the Pennsylvania Veterans Foundation by attending a gala art auction on Friday, November 7, 2014.  This year’s event was held at the New Cumberland Army Depot’s Susquehanna Club.  The Gala featured announcement of the first organizational grants awarded under the PVF’s new grants initiative.  More . .

Military Order of the Purple Heart Continues Five Star Support

Once again, the Military Order of the Purple Heart (MOPH) has stepped up to demonstrate its support, confidence, and partnership with the Pennsylvania Veterans Foundation (PVF).  with a donation of $60,000 to the PVF in July 2014. To date, the MOPH has donated over $195,000 to the mission of the PVF.  More. . .

Mauger Golf Tournament: May 19, 2014

Indian Valley Middle School Baseball for PVF.  The Indian Valley Middle School Baseball Team raised approximately $1,000 for the Pennsylvania Veterans Foundation through a barbecue and baseball game against Quakertown’s Milford Middle School on May 6, 2014.  More. . 

Racing for Veterans.  Two miniature/model race car events were held the weekend of 1-2 March 2014, The race on  Saturday, 1 March was at Etters in the Bumps and Jumps Raceway.  The second, Sunday, 2 March, which PVF Chairman Mike Gould attended and spoke at, was at the Hidden Hanger in Harrisburg.  After he spoke, Chairman Gould did the honors of drawing the 50-50 raffle ticket.  The family that won immediately came to Chairman Gould with their winnings and stated "we don't need this" with the unsaid understanding that our cause needs it more.  It was very moving.  The two day event will take proceeds from entries and the raffles to give a donation to the PA Veterans Foundation.  Their goal is $2,000.  This is their second year of MJR partnering with us,  and  we look forward to maintaining this benefit for our cause

Selinsgrove Moose Contribute to PVF.  Selinsgrove Moose Lodge # 1173 contributed $2000 to the PVF on April 10, 2014. Chairman Mike Gould accepted a check from Bill Smith, Rick Shipe, Steve Hoffman.

MOPH Makes Record DonationThe Pennsylvania Department of the Military Order of the Purple Heart has made a record-setting donation of $75,000 to the Pennsylvania Veterans Foundation. This donation is by far the largest single gift to the PVF. Commander Michael Mescavage, Adjutant and Financial Officer Harry “Dean” Clark, and Chuck Jackson presented the check to PVF Chairman Michael Gould on March 26, 2013.  More. . .

CHIVE PA DONATION.  PVF Chairman, Mike Gould, accepted a $7,000 donation from ChivePA at the PA Veterans’ Memorial, Indiantown Gap National Cemetery on December 17, 2013.  The donation was the result of a November 30 meet-up sponsored by ChivePA in Harrisburg.

Lancaster Fallfest Lonestar Concert T-Shirts  Benefit PVF.  The I-105/Turkey Hill Fallfest was held from noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday, October 13, 2013, at Overlook Park, which is in Manheim Township, just north of Lancaster. Lonestar, a giant in the world of country music, was the headliner.  More. . .

Golf Tournament  Turkey Hill Minit Markets has selected the Pennsylvania Veterans Foundation as one of the charitable organizations that Turkey Hill will support in 2013-14.  As Turkey Hill says, "that's what neighbors are for."

The Turkey Hill Minit Markets Headquarters and key affiliates conducted a benefit golf outing for the PVF.  The event was held on Friday, September 6 at the Hershey County Club East and West Courses from 1000 until conclusion. At the conclusion, PVF Chairman, Mike Gould, gave a short presentation of the work the PVF has done since 11-11-11

MOPH Makes Second Record Donation.  On August 13, 2013, the Pennsylvania Department of the Military Order of the Purple Heart  made a second record-setting donation to the Pennsylvania Veterans Foundation. Saying that "it is with great pleasure that we are able to support our needy military veterans and families ," the MOPH donated $60,000 to the PVF.  Michael Gould, PVF chairman,  expressed gratitude to the MOPH observing that the additional donation came at a particularly important time as the Foundation has awarded grants totaling more that $20,000 in recent weeks.

Old Glory Sporting Clay Tournament.  The Pennsylvania Veterans Foundation and Hunts for Healing will benefit from the first "Old Glory Sporting Clay Tournament on June 14, 2013 at Rocky Mountain Sporting Clays in Springville, PA. Participants will have a  great time at the Tournament, which will raise funds to help the Foundation and Hunts for Healing.  You can be a participant in the Tournament or a sponsor at various levels of support.  Click here for additional information.

The Pennsylvania Veterans Foundation has donated $2,500 to David's Drive 831, a nonprofit public charity committed to improving the quality of life for military personnel, veterans and people in need in the community.  More. . .

PVF Selected.  First Generation of Allentown has selected the Pennsylvania Veterans Foundation has been selected to receive a $1000 donation as part of its "12 weeks of Christmas" giving campaign.  First Generation is a Service-Dksabled Veteran-Owned Small Business that makes  a great effort to donate to military/veterans organizations that assist organizations in the Lehigh Valley area.

Record-setting Donation from VFW Post 4712.  VFW Post 4712, Simpson, Pennsylvania, has presented a check for $25,000 to the Pennsylvania Veterans Foundation.   The $25,000 gift is the largest single gift to the Foundation to date.  More. . .

PVF Gives Donation to PA Wounded Warriors.  At the State Veterans' Commission meeting on Friday, September 7, the PVF donated $2,000 to Pennsylvania Wounded Warriors. PVF Chairman Mike Gould presented the check to Mrs. Helen Sajer, Founder of the Pennsylvania Wounded Warriors. 

PVF Receives Donations from VFW and Legion Posts.  The VFW Richard J. Gross Post 8896 – East Berlin, PA, donated $5,000 to the PVF on July 26, 2012.  This is the largest organizational donation given to the PVF,  The Post leads the honor roll of organizational donors. More. . .

Rifle Donated to PVF.  Robbie Anderson, a Master Carver from Warren, PA, in cooperation with the Warren County Veterans' Council, has donated a hand-carved Thompson Encore .300 Winchester Magnum with a 3x12 Scope to the Pennsylvania Veterans Foundation to use in its fundraising efforts.  Ed Burris, Warren County Director of Veterans' Affairs and PVF vice-chair. presented the rifle to PVF Chairman Mike Gould at the June 1 Board of Directors meeting.  Gould expressed the sincere appreciation of the PVF Board of Directors for this exceedingly generous gift.

Robbie Anderson carves these rifle stocks and other items using a Dremel®  tool with various bits.  The carving depicts an elk in a wooded scene with oak leaves and trees.  Mr. Anderson's goal is to train wounded warriors and veterans how to carve rifle stocks and other items using Dremel tools.

Operation Give-Back Benefit Golf Outing.  Operation Give‐Back is an initiative to honor our military personnel who have served our country with honor and courage. On August 8, 2012 Operation Give‐Back will hold a Benefit Golf Outing at the Royal Oaks Golf Club in Lebanon, PA. The Outing activities will include a ceremony to honor our soldiers and their families.  A portion of the proceeds will benefit the PVF. Click here for more information.

In support of Operation Give‐Back, a raffle drawing will be held on August 11, 2012. The drawing will be held at Susquehanna Harley‐Davidson, 6300 Allentown Boulevard, Harrisburg, PA following the Support Our Soldiers (SOS) Motorcycle Ride. The grand prize will be the very first Original Knievel Custom Motorcycle valued at $29,000. First prize is a 42” LCD television valued at $700. Second prize is a $300 Spa Package.

Lift-a-Thon Benefits PVF.  The Carlisle Thundering Herd Football Team presented the Pennsylvania Veterans Foundation  a check for $1500 in donations received from the annual lift-a-thon.  More. . .

The Snyder County Veterans Council and United Concordia Companies, Inc. have each made generous gifts to the Pennsylvania Veterans Foundation. The gifts were announced at the third meeting of the Board of Directors, held on Friday, April 6 at Fort Indiantown Gap.
